Ruby Dee Wins First SAG Award!

CONGRATULATIONS! To the one and only RUBY DEE for winning her 1st Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Supporting Role for her role as Mama Lucas in American Gangster. Click HERE to listen to her discuss the role in the film and visit SAG's website to read her acceptance speech.

I'm really looking forward to witnessing her receiving an Academy Award. (Just putting it out into the universe!)

Congratulations also to Queen Latifah for winning a second SAG Award for Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In Television Movie or Miniseries for her role as Ana in the HBO film, Life Support. Click HERE to read my review of the poignant film.

And Congrats to Leslie David Baker too for receiving his second SAG Award for Best Performance By An Ensemble in a Comedy Series for his role as Stanley Hudson on The Office.

Despite heavy rains and several power outages, the show was held Sunday at L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium and broadcast live without interruption on networks, TNT & TBS simultaneously. To view a list of all the winners visit SAG's website HERE.
