A Tribute to Michael & The Jackson Family: Leimert Park, Los Angeles

The day after... The shock of Michael's passing was still settling in and I had to do something to honor this man and his family. So without much preparation I grabbed the camera, called a friend, and headed to historic Leimert Park to be amongst those who needed to express our love for Michael Jackson in some way--through dance, song, spoken word, or written words on colorful tees. Here's the results:

Thanks "Hollywood As I Live and Work" for hitting the streets. After listening to media report upon media report speculating about Michael Jackson's cause of death (was there foul play). It was refreshing to hear other fans like me concentrate on "The Man," "The Music" and "The Change" he made in our lives. I was glad to know that he was loved just as much in Pakishtan as he was right here in my hood. MJ you will live in our hearts forever!

WOW, thanks for sharing how people are truly celebrating MJ. I can't say goodbye because I don't want to believe it. Back in the 70s you couldn't tell me that I was not his #1 fan or that he was not my boyfriend. The word CRUSH is an understatement. As Jamie Foxx mentioned on the BET Awards which I only watch because of the tribute. We must lift him up because the media is NOT! In closing, just take a moment a to remember when you too fell in LOVE with MJ then close your eyes and ride that cloud.

Will Never Say Goodbye in NC!

Great video - as good as any coverage I've seen. And thanks for sharing it with Leimert Park .

It's now the day after that moving memorial service. And even though we witnessed the brothers roll in that golden vessel carrying Micheal's shell, I swear it feels like MJ is still amongst the living. In the back of mind, he's just sojourning, not necessarily gone, just not here. His spirit is so very present.
